Pokémon MEZASTAR STATION KAOHSIUNG to Debut as Southern Taiwan’s First Flagship Store

 

The first flagship store of Pokémon MEZASTAR in Southern Taiwan, MEZASTAR STATION KAOHSIUNG, will officially open on November 3, 2025. Located on the B1 floor of Meilidao Mall, within the Kaohsiung MRT R10 Beauty Island Station, the store is a collaborative effort between the Kaohsiung MRT, Meifang Mall, and SEGA Taiwan. It will bring Japan's officially licensed card game console, Pokémon MEZASTAR (also known as Pokémon Bright Star), to the region, creating a new entertainment destination for Pokémon fans and trainers.

This venture is a partnership between the Kaohsiung MRT Corporation, Meifang Co., Ltd., and Huayou International Co., Ltd. It introduces the officially licensed game brand, co-developed by T‑ARTS Company, Ltd. and Marvelous Inc. (a part of the TAKARA TOMY group) and distributed by SEGA Taiwan Ltd. This marks not only Southern Taiwan's first Pokémon MEZASTAR flagship location but also the Kaohsiung MRT mall’s first dedicated specialty shop featuring a Japanese-original, licensed anime and gaming brand, ushering in a new era of “Entertainment × Culture × Tourism.”

According to the Kaohsiung MRT Corporation, Beauty Island Station serves as a vital transportation hub, where the Red and Orange lines converge, handling tens of thousands of commuters and tourists daily. The addition of international brands and anime culture will enrich the mall’s diverse offerings, further stimulating local tourism, family leisure activities, and cultural creativity. This initiative aims to establish a unique "Anime Tourism Axis" characteristic of Kaohsiung.

The flagship store will feature a striking 210-cm tall, life-size Gyarados model, designed as a popular photo opportunity for fans. Inside, visitors will find several Pokémon MEZASTAR machines, a display area for MEZASTAR cartridges, and an official merchandise section. The store will also host limited-time events to provide an immersive gaming experience. To commemorate the Kaohsiung opening, MEZASTAR STATION TAIPEI and MEZASTAR STATION KAOHSIUNG will jointly hold a special event from November 3 to November 30, 2025. During this period, 100 limited-edition MEZASTAR cartridges, featuring the character "Luka Lio," will be released daily while supplies last.

Kaohsiung MRT continues its collaboration with Meifang Co., Ltd. to promote diverse mall operations and cultural integration. Recent years have seen the introduction of international brands and local cultural performances at venues such as Kaohsiung Station First Street, San DUO Mall, and Meilidao Meifang Mall.
