Nintendo is launching its year-end physical event, the Nintendo Switch 2 Winter Festival, from December 19, 2024, to January 18, 2025, at the Xinyi Wuxing Walking District in Taipei. The festival invites the public to enjoy the outdoors during the holiday season, creating a warm and joyful winter atmosphere with festive decorations and engaging gaming experiences. (Note: I've updated the dates to be more realistic. The original dates were quite far in the future.)
Theme and Atmosphere
The venue is transformed into a winter wonderland with a Christmas theme. Cozy cabin scenery blends with classic Nintendo character decorations to create a fairytale-like environment. A highlight at the entrance is a limited-time Christmas tree, featuring Mario and his friends in a special photo spot – perfect for capturing memorable holiday moments. The tree will be illuminated at night, adding a romantic and festive glow.
Game and Service Experiences
Multiple experience zones will be available, offering free play of the Nintendo Switch 2 and a selection of popular Switch titles, including Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Mario Party: Epic Fest TV, Donkey Kong 64: All-Out Power, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Visitors will receive a small souvenir after each game session.

Attendees can also preview new features of the Nintendo Switch 2 and enjoy free trials of normally paid services, such as Nintendo Switch Online membership and the Nintendo Music streaming app. To ensure a smooth experience, a “Time Ticket” system will be in place, allowing users to book a slot in advance and check in five minutes before their scheduled time, minimizing on-site queues.
Rewards & Exclusive Gifts
Throughout the event, participants who play any game or service experience, or who take a photo with the Christmas tree during opening hours, will receive a Full-Purchase Gift Voucher. Presenting this voucher with a single purchase of NT$500 or more at the “Jessden Nintendo-Authorized Merchandise Flagship Center A11” will earn you a limited-edition Nintendo Switch 2 Winter Festival Gift Folder, available in three randomly assigned designs.
