Chiayi’s O’Levo Dream Castle

Often referred to as "Taiwan's Disney Castle," the O’Levo Dream Castle immediately drew attention upon the start of construction. This new attraction in Dali, Chiayi, opened for a trial run in August, covering an area of 4,100 ping (approximately 13,571 square meters). The park is divided into three distinct themed zones—"Maya Story," "Dream Castle," and "Provence Town"—to create an immersive experience centered around chocolate.

The castle’s dreamlike facade combines shades of pink and sky blue, evoking the atmosphere of a fairytale. Its central structure boasts 18 spires, with the tallest tower modeled after an orchid and adorned with 29,000 gold leaf panels – a tribute to Dali’s population. This thoughtful nod to the local area and its residents is injecting new vitality into Chiayi’s tourism scene. At the entrance, an interactive media installation, "Cocoa Code," allows visitors to scan their tickets to unlock a special, hidden story, adding an element of discovery and fun. Inside, the most striking feature is a 10-meter-high golden cocoa tree, an irresistible photo opportunity. The castle also offers a range of amenities, including an American-style buffet, a banquet hall, a children's interactive play area, and other diverse venues.

The "Maya Story" zone explores Mayan culture, guiding visitors through the mythological origins of cocoa. A “Bean to Bar” demonstration showcases the daily process by which professional chocolatiers transform cocoa beans into chocolate. Visitors can also participate in various DIY workshops to create their own desserts. Next is "Provence Town," where colorful houses are scattered along the lakeside, creating a distinctly European ambiance. This area is home to numerous specialty shops and cafés, allowing guests to sample the park's exclusive plum-flavored golden bricks and handmade chocolates, culminating in a complete sensory experience.
